In the 1690s, a young Huron (indigenous native american) crosses the Atlantic and arrives in France, causing a huge agitation in the canton. He then falls madly in love with the beautiful Saint-Yves. But soon, everyone gets offended because he's not Catholic ! After an express religious initiation and a baptism, he learns that he cannot marry his beloved because she was his godmother during the sacrament. From there, everything goes wrong : he travels to Versailles in order to obtain an exemption from King Louis XIV and finds himself confronted with the corruption of the powerful, the abuse of power and injustice.
